Individual Counseling Services

Individual counseling involves talking about your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors and the things that are troubling you. You might spend time talking about your relationships with others, the things you are good at and the things you would like to do better. Your counselor or therapist will work with you to set goals or identify the things you would like to accomplish by working together. Our counseling model attempts to empower you with the resources needed to make positive changes in your life. The counselor and client work together to define and discuss personal issues and reach mutually agreed upon goals. Sessions generally last 50 minutes and occur once per week or bi-weekly. The Healing Center for Change offers counseling and psychotherapy services for a range of individual issues such as:

Group counseling Services

Group counseling is one of the many forms of treatment offered. Some groups are focused on special themes like stress or anger management, trauma recovery, or life after divorce, while some groups are more general and focus on resolving a range of issues, such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem problems, and relationship problems. For many types of problems, group counseling is the treatment of choice. Remember, group counseling is not a second-choice intervention; rather, it offers a special interpersonal dimension to counseling. Groups provide the opportunity to observe others solving their problems. Groups provide the advantage of a network of support. Groups are especially helpful in learning to build trust, self-acceptance, intimacy, communication skills, and empathy. Although groups may differ, they generally meet weekly for 60 to 90 minutes, and include 5 to 10 members, and one or more professionals who act as group leaders or facilitators.
